June 1997 The Marlowe Players presented It's a Girl by John Burrows |
| A sketchbook of sharp, entertaining caricatures, concerning one 'ordinary' women who fights two parallel campaigns, one for the right to have her baby at home, the other for the right not to have a nuclear waste dump in her town. With her husband opposing the first, and working for the contractor implementing the second, the lines are laid for a battle which illuminates two highly contentious issues. The cast of five women play all the parts, male and female. | |
