I am interested in joining an amateur dramatics group and found your details on the internet. To be honest I have not done much acting, but it is smoething I have been interested in for a while. Would it be possible to find out a little more about yourselves, and explore is there is any "remote" chance of me getting involved in this field? |

I'm hoping my second attempt at contacting you will get through. I would love to hear from any Marlowe Players who remember me - I was Dawn Adams back in 1974 when I first joined. My first role was in The Other Cinderella. I have many happy memories of my time with the Group. My aunt and uncle are Margaret and Ray Kelly. I now live in Kent and work in London, married with a 7 year old boy. The web-site is terrific - keep up the good work. |

I'm moving to Belper end of August (currently living near Newark), and am interested in joining the Marlowe Players. Are you still reading/auditioning for the October production? I'm currently with the Robin Hood Theatre and would love to find another company when I move...Thanks...Keith Whitaker |

So pleased to have found your site. As an ex-member I'm thrilled. I was Dawn Adams in those days - 1975 onwards. Margaret & Ray Kelly are my aunt and uncle. Fond memories of Chris Redfearn and dear Vida Ayres. Please pass on my best wishes, an e-mail address, to any members who remember me. Would love to hear from them. Good luck with everything. In London now for 15 years and miss The Marlowes very much. Saw a local drama group last night and thought I'd have a look for you this morning. Memories came flooding back. They were doing JB Priestley and did a good job !!! Will try and arrange my next visit to Derby to coincide with a producion. Kind regards. Dawn Keleher (nee Adams). |

Went to see Hunting of the Snark last night at the Studio. I wanted to congratulate the cast and crew - it was a fantastic piece of theatre. The characters and the group dynamics were totally believable. I went along having acted with Chris Nixon before & Theatre In The Round. It was a really rewarding production. Well done! PS When's the auditions for the next one? |

I came to see the Hunting of the Snark last night and it was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed it, Baker and Beaver were the ones who shone for me, brilliant! I'd be interested in details of your forthcoming production in October if you could forward them to me, thanks. |

| comments: | Sorry I sent this to David before I noticed this page. I took my wife to Saturday nights performance of Willy Russells One for the Road at the Studio Derby Playhouse. We were not quite sure what to expect as its the first time we have attended a production by the Marlowe Players. Both my wife and myself were delighted with the show and thoroughly enjoying every minute. We thought all of the cast were brilliant and on par with many professional productions we have seen at the theatre. Please pass on our congratulations and appreciation to all concerned with the play. I would imagine it must be a very intimidating room to perform in from the actors point of view . It seems unfair to mention one particular member of the cast as all the four really were excellent. However Richard Stevenson deserves a special mention for his interpretation of the now Forty something Dennis. Just one small criticism regarding the publicity leaflet advertising the Production One for the Road . Its well presented and it certainly caught my eye when I was booking for another performance at the Derby Playhouse. That's how we became aware of the Marlow Players. However I did find it annoying that it gave the complete story line including the end. If you have a mailing list with information on future productions I would appreciate being included. We shall definitely be attending future Marlowe Player Productions. Thanks once again for an excellent evening. Regards, Mik Malster. |
