Next Production

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEXT PRODUCTION

We will be performing Laying the Ghost - A comedy by Simon Williams - at Darley Abbey Village Hall on the evenings of Tuesday 23rd to Saturday 27th July at 7:30pm

A brief synopsis:

Margot Buchanan is a witty ex-actress in a retirement home.  She is visited by a young actress who is having an affair with Margot's ex-husband, Leo, and also by Leo's current wife, Judy.   Leo also arrives, but then suffers a fatal heart attack.  Thus the scene is set for chaotic hilarity as Leo's ghost appears, anxious to sort out matters between his three women, but visible only to Margot's psychic friend, Freda.

Since then there have been over 140 major productions. In addition the Players have staged recitals …

With members of Team Marlowe smoothly completing the set changes, this production was a worthy tribute to Gil Townes, their late Chairman, and maintained the Players` reputation for quality presentations.

I was there on opening night and have
to say thoroughly enjoyed it. I was
engaged from the moment the curtains
opened to the moment the curtains closed at the end.
